About 73% of Generation Z, 90.4% of Millennials, and 48.2% of Baby Boomers flood the internet. The average user is on social media for about 3 hours a day. If you’re looking to sell products, about 49% of those users are consumers who have admitted to depending on influencer recommendations before buying, so if you’re not already online, what are you waiting for?
Facebook is the king as the most popular social media website, and the 3rd most frequently used website in the world. 79% of Americans use Facebook, so if you’re looking for some serious reach, Facebook is the way to go (Lyfemarketing, 2019).
Instagram is another big social media player with over 1 billion monthly users. Instagram is a great site for appealing to young adults with 62% of its users ranging between the ages of 18 and 29. Also, Instagram is reportedly the best place for influencers brands to thrive, as 70% of influencers say that Instagram is the most effective social site for their campaigns. Best of all, 85.5% of those influencers say that they run their campaigns with a $0 budget! How can you beat that?(Buffer, 2019)
YouTube has been entertaining the masses since 2005. With 33% of the world’s population (about 2 billion people) watching 1 billion hours of YouTube, daily, posting content on YouTube can be quite beneficial if taken advantage of (Planoly, 2020).
Pinterest’s site hosts 335 million active users. Two-thirds of those active users are women. Go figure! 83% of weekly users make purchases based on products they see on the site, and 93% of users use Pinterest to make purchases or plan future purchases (Lyfemarketing, 2019).
Twitter is a great place to let your brand’s hair down a bit by using wit and humor to attract viewers on its ever-entertaining platform. It is home to 330 million monthly active users, with nearly half of that population engaging daily (Planoly, 2020).
